Around the House

The entire team at Highland Homes is thrilled to announce two exciting product upgrades that will be included in many of our new homes. As of Jan. 1, all new DFW homes will receive a state-of-the-art tankless hot water system, and homes in many of our communities will include a Zurn Pex plumbing solution.

These changes are important for you, the buyer, for several reasons. Let’s take a closer look at both of these new products so you know exactly how they benefit you—and your budget:

Tankless Water Heaters

For those looking to buy a Highland home in one of our Dallas-Fort Worth communities, these new tankless water heaters are an exciting upgrade that is worth up to $4,000 at retail prices!

These innovative devices are also known as “on-demand” water heaters, because they only heat water when you turn on the faucet. Traditional hot water heaters, on the other hand, work constantly to keep up to 50 gallons of water hot, which uses a lot of energy. Switching over to tankless can save one household hundreds of dollars a year and helps to lessen your environmental impact.

Besides saving your pocketbook, tankless water heaters also take up less space than traditional models. Some can even be installed on the exterior of your home, which frees up space in your garage. Best yet, tankless water heaters offer an unlimited supply of hot water—so no more icy cold showers when the relatives come to visit.

Zurn Pex Plumbing

We’re also making a big upgrade to the plumbing systems in all Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin homes, and most of our communities in San Antonio. We’ve long used copper plumbing in our homes, and we’ve decided to make the switch to Zurn Pex piping to give our buyers several exciting benefits.

The Zurn Pex product is much quieter and cleaner, and has 80 percent fewer connections than copper piping. Plus, it resists damage from freezing. All of these factors mean that it is built to last—just like the rest of a Highland home. In addition, Zurn Pex provides a 25-year fully transferrable warranty on the new piping, so you can rest easy knowing that your investment is well-protected for years to come.

With these exciting new upgrades, 2016 is a fantastic time to buy a new Highland home. Get started by checking out our newest model homes.
